Receives direct supervision from OPS and RD Manager. Be proactive in addressing project responsibilities. Work with manufacturing, product development and quality as well as being responsible for managing the transfer of products to production, including support of contract manufacturers to develop and improve processes for mission-critical products in an ISO 13485 environment.
Description:
Manufacturing Manager will manage different aspects of operations including:
Support transfer of new or improved products from Engineering to Production.
Activities will include a good understanding of BOMs, design for manufacturability, process design, process validation, assembly methods and design reviews.
Proficient at protocol and report writing with respect to development of new processes and optimization/validation of existing processes.
Analyze production processes and metrics to include yield, capacity and capability.
Provide technical support for production and quality.
Ability to solve problems using structured methods.
Experience breaking down high-level (e.g. device level) performance issues into addressable action items.
Ensures that manufacturing personnel is adequately trained in performing their functions and maintains training records.
Coordinate facilities upkeep and improvements.
Set and meet daily production goals.
Provide monthly manufacturing metrics as required.
Ensure that engineering change are efficiently implemented in manufacturing.
Ensure timely support of new product development schedules as well as supporting ongoing design change testing.
Work with Cost Accounting to reconcile monthly production work order and material usage variances.
Establish operational objectives for functional area of responsibility.
Work with subordinate personnel to develop goals and measurements associated with these objectives.
Write a conduct yearly performance reviews.
Assist in developing manufacturing budgets.
Ensure the manufacturing operates within established budgets.
Training and Experience Required:
3+ year’s prior manufacturing and managerial experience.
Ability to use SolidWorks for the design of products and fixtures.
Ability to read, analyze, interpret and generate engineering drawings.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including fabrication of plastics and metals.
Good written, verbal, interpersonal and time management skills.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
